Herkomst koffiebonen
Ethiopië, officieel de Federale Democratische Republiek Ethiopië, is een land in Oost-Afrika.
Het grenst aan Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalië, Kenia en Soedan. Ethiopië heeft een oppervlakte van ruim 1,1 miljoen vierkante kilometer. Ethiopië is op dit ogenblik de 10e grootste koffieproducent van de wereld en produceert jaarlijks ruim 8 miljoen balen (1 baal = 60 kg groene koffiebonen), dat is 5% van de wereldproductie.
Koffie uit Ethiopië bevat een licht zuurtje. Dit zuurtje is erg aantrekkelijk in een krachtige espresso.
